Arroyo Seco (aka "dry gulch") was settled in 1804 on a Spanish land grant dating back to 1745.  Today it is an unincorporated, quaint village on the way to the Taos Ski Valley and El Salto.  This lazy little town is known for its annual 4th of July parade, funky shops, art galleries and Abe's Bar & Cantina, where Abe, at 90+ years old, is still serving beers and some of the best homemade chicken enchiladas around.
